Be Still, and Know That I Am God

Be Still, and Know That I Am God

Busy can be good. Or not so healthy. Things get done. But “busy” can also be a distraction. A way to convince ourselves that life is within our control. God knows our tendencies, which is why He invites us to:

“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

I love this verse. It is an invitation to let go of control and cling to God. I need to do both more often.

We live in a hurried world. We think we get extra credit for being busy or achieving much. There is certainly a place and time for working hard. (Usually at least 8 hours a day).

But there is also freedom in being still before God and knowing Him well. Trusting Him. Resting in Him. I pray that we will pause from the busy today and accept His invitation to be. And know. – Sandi
