How do you know when it is God’s voice or the pizza you ate for dinner? That is a core question for every believer. How do you recognize what God is saying to you? Like you, I don’t have this one completely figured out. But I do believe that God wants you to know what He’s saying. And He honors our efforts to listen.
“Jesus went out into the hills to pray and spent the night praying to God. When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose 12 of them.” Luke 6:12-13
I’ve never noticed that in scripture before. Jesus prayed all night before choosing the 12 disciples. He listened for clarity from God. Just like we do. Jesus was modeling something very important. When we have a big decision or we’re wrestling with something….take time to pray. Take time to listen. I don’t know what God’s voice sounds like, but His Word says that we will recognize His voice. -Sandi
