What Do You Want From God?

What Do You Want From God?

There are a couple of people in my life that only reach out to me when they want something. I love them, but the basis of our conversations seems to be more transactional than relational.

“Moses said to God, ‘If your Presence doesn’t go with us, don’t send us from here.’ … And the Lord said, ‘I am pleased with you and I know you by name.’” Exodus 33:15,17

That is what ‘relationship’ looks like.  Closeness. Vulnerability. Being known. Moses wanted to stay in God’s presence.  It was enough for Moses. And I pray it will be enough for our restless hearts as well.

Do I spend more time seeking His hand or His face?  When my heart gets to that place of only praying because I want something from God, I remember the heart of Moses. Being in the presence of God was His source of peace and joy.  It is ours as well.  – Sandi
