We Need Jesus

We Need Jesus

Do you know what “plank eye” is? It’s when you can see everyone else’s faults but can’t see your own. We all have blind spots. If you’re brave, ask your spouse or kids to help identify your “weak” areas. It is humbling.

“First, take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:5

It is so easy to identify someone else’s blind spot or weakness. And it’s tempting to judge them and consider ourselves “better,” when in reality, we’re blind to our own sin and struggles. I think the cure for “plank eye” is acknowledging our own need for a Savior. When we do, we’ll have more grace for everyone else that we “see” today.
