I crave more peace in my life. If you do as well, maybe this verse will be helpful and a tad bit convicting.
“Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, excellent, or praiseworthy- think about such things…And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9
God’s peace is always available to us. But I think it gets kind of crowded in my mind and heart sometimes with everything else that I allow in. Fear. Worry. Doubt. Rumors. Hurt feelings.
Perhaps some of the anxiety that I experience is rooted in what I allow into my thoughts. What am I looking at, reading, talking about, dwelling on? Do I take my role as a “gatekeeper” for my mind seriously?
There is a connection between our thoughts and our peace. May our minds gravitate to truthful, excellent things. May we filter out distractions, disruptions and distortions. When we do, God has more room to work and more peace to give. – Sandi
