Are You Suffering In Silence? Here’s A First Step.

I had to admit it to myself (and my Christian counselor) that I had become a
“silo saint.” I’ve not heard anyone else use that term, but I think it applies to a lot of us. We try to do this Christian life without support and accountability. We love Jesus. But we suffer in silence.

“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

Why not just confess our sins to God and ask Him for healing? We should. But God knows what is best for our souls and it includes giving and receiving love from others. When we’re honest with someone, it encourages growth, in both of us. It fosters trust. It reminds us of our need for a Savior and each other. It is powerful and effective, not just in seeing prayers answered. But in becoming more like Jesus.

Don’t settle for being a silo saint. Practice vulnerability with a trusted friend. It just may be the first step on your healing journey. -Sandi
