I love a bargain! Discounts, freebies, BOGO, here I come!!! Being frugal is a good thing….most of the time. But if we’re not careful, we carry that mindset over to our relationship with God.
“I will not sacrifice an offering to the Lord that costs me nothing.” 1 Chronicles 21:24
David was King. He was entitled to a lot of benefits and freebies. But David knew He was also a sinner in need of forgiveness. So He approached God with humility and surrender. With a full heart, holding nothing back.
His hand out to God was one of GIVING, not only receiving. He was invested and thankful. I want that to be the posture of my heart. God has paid such a costly price for my salvation and forgiveness. He owes me nothing. I owe Him everything. Nothing is too costly to offer/surrender to Him. – Sandi
