More About Amanda

Bio:

I caught the radio bug when I was 19, and I’ve worked in Christian radio ever since. I love the opportunity to share the hope of Jesus from the perspective of someone who is still a work in progress. We’re all living life for the very first time, and it’s fun to connect with so many people who have shared experiences and challenges…and seeing God’s hand at work through all of them.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my husband (who also works in Christian radio) and our kids. We’ve got a Bernedoodle named Mae who is the definition of “velcro dog” and is definitely the queen of the house. I love Diet Coke, the Detroit Lions, baking, and spending time outside (although I do not like to camp).

Nickname:
Almost everyone calls me Amanda, my kids call me “mom”, but my grandma is still allowed to call me “Mandy” (a nickname I abandoned in 2nd grade).

Biggest Treasure in this life:
My family. My husband and I have a big blended family – four sons and two daughters. They’re all teenagers and young adults now, and any time we can get with them (and their “special someones”) is a gift.

Fun fact:
I once took a young listener’s “Flat Stanley” school project to New York City and was able to get it on the Today Show. I’ve also been on 20/20.

Favorite bible verse:
Isaiah 41:10 – “so do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”.

Favorite thing to do on a day off:
My days off are ususally filled with things happening with the kids (sports, orthodontist appointments, etc), but I do love a chance to get a good cup of coffee, wander around Trader Joes or Home Goods, and enjoy a day where I can take my time instead of hurrying around. If the weather is nice, I love walking the dog and being outside.
