“Build a Boat” by Colton Dixon

Colton says that he was inspired to write a song about the insane faith that we are called to have in God. And the story of Noah seemed to just make sense. Faith is stepping out when you can’t see it and Noah was called to create a large boat in the middle of a drought. Sometimes God asks us to do things that don’t make sense to us in the moment.

Standing in obedience.

This song encourages all of us to stand in obedience to what God calls us to do, regardless of the circumstances or what the situation looks like. There is always a blessing of some kind waiting on the other side of crazy faith.

Colton mentioned his “crazy faith” moment being when he lost his record deal. It wasn’t something he saw coming. While wondering if music was even in his future he had to be reminded that maybe this is a step God is taking to set him up for what’s next in his life.

Getting to know more about Colton Dixon

Made to Fly by Colton Dixon

Colton Dixon’s song “Made to Fly” is about overcoming the struggles in life and rising above them.

A fantastic song to listen to when you’re feeling overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of daily life, because it’s all too easy to rely on our own strength. It’s easy to forget that we serve a God who will give us the power we need for everyday challenges.

The lyrics of the song speak to the hope that we all have in Jesus. With the power of God on our side we were not meant to walk but we were made to fly. It’s about rising above the challenges and obstacles that life throws our way.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” - Isaiah 40:31

“Made To Fly” is a great reminder from Colton that there is hope waiting for us on the other side and we shouldn’t be satisfied with walking. God made us to fly.
