Jordan:
Did you see Andrew Ripp on the unicycle juggling, singing?

Andrew Ripp:
Fire.

Jordan:
Because, this is crazy.

Andrew Ripp:
He’s juggling fire.

Jordan:
And your stage show is going to be…

Andrew Ripp:
It’s going to be sick.

Jordan:
… next level.

Jordan:
This is JOY FM Off Stage. Look at Andrew Ripp here. We’re going to get to know Andrew and other artists on JOY FM a little bit better. We know their songs on stage. Off stage, do you really know Andrew Ripp? Let’s find out.

Andrew Ripp:
Let’s go.

Jordan:
We’re going to start with question number one. What’s one chore you wish you never had to do again?

Andrew Ripp:
The dishes.

Jordan:
Dishes.

Andrew Ripp:
I don’t need to be doing the dishes anymore.

Jordan:
No.

Andrew Ripp:
I don’t like getting spaghetti on my hands. Do you?

Jordan:
No, it’s always on my shirt.

Andrew Ripp:
Soggy spaghetti all over.

Jordan:
My shirt does the job.

Andrew Ripp:
Here you go.

Jordan:
That’s where them at. What do you just do? Paper plates now?

Andrew Ripp:
That’s a great idea.

Jordan:
You have nothing to do on the calendar today. What’s the first thing you want to do?

Andrew Ripp:
Get on my bike and cruise through the park.

Jordan:
Doesn’t matter if it’s snowing outside?

Andrew Ripp:
I don’t care. I wanna be outside, man! Do you know about the enneagram?

Jordan:
Yes, I do.

Andrew Ripp:
I’m a seven on the enneagram, which is all about adventure.

Jordan:
Got it. Well, then get this man a bike.

Andrew Ripp:
Get outside. Let’s get this guy a bike. Give me a snowboard. Give me a skateboard.

Jordan:
Helmet though?

Andrew Ripp:
I don’t do the helmet. Probably should.

Check out some other things happening at JOY FM on the What’s Happening page!

Jordan:
Late night Taco Bell order, what is it?

Andrew Ripp:
Five tacos, straight down the middle. Give me some crunchy style. Maybe some fire sauce.

Jordan:
See, I’m a crunchy, but I haven’t been to Taco Bell in a while. And now we’re talking about it…

Andrew Ripp:
As a matter of fact, tonight, I’m playing the JOY FM Sofa Series.

Jordan:
Yeah.

Andrew Ripp:
And usually after a show is when we hit Taco Bell, so you just gave me a great idea.

Jordan:
There’s actually a Taco Bell within like five miles before you’re playing.

Andrew Ripp:
Let’s go. Okay, so that’s happening in about five hours.

Jordan:
All right. What about on your phone, the most used emoji right now? What’s your most frequently used emoji?

Andrew Ripp:
This little number right here. 🤙

Jordan:
Oh really?

Andrew Ripp:
Oh yeah. This says a lot. This is a whole… There’s so much…

Jordan:
That’s like surfs up or something.

Andrew Ripp:
That’s exactly right. I lived in California a little while.

Jordan:
That explains it.

Andrew Ripp:
Feels kind of smooth, but everybody gets the point. It’s also very kind and lighthearted.

Jordan:
Nobody looks at that and thinks, “Well, this is aggressive.”

Andrew Ripp:
Yeah. Nobody thinks like, “Hey, what a jerk.”

Jordan:
Exactly. You’re going to stay away from that.

Andrew Ripp:
I don’t like to be seen as a jerk. I don’t know about you.

Jordan:
If you started a boy band, what would it be called?

Andrew Ripp:
Ooh. Melodic Aggression.

Jordan:
Melodic Aggression.

Andrew Ripp:
Melodic Aggression is a band name that I came up with at the gym the other day with some friends. Because, at the gym, you listen to aggressive stuff that pumps you up.

Jordan:
Right.

Andrew Ripp:
It probably wouldn’t be my boy band name…

Jordan:
Got it.

Andrew Ripp:
… but it was the first band name that came to mind.

Jordan:
This doesn’t scream Melodic Aggression.

Andrew Ripp:
It doesn’t. This screams the opposite.

Jordan:
Melodic Passive Aggression.

Andrew Ripp:
Passive Aggression. That’s Good.

Jordan:
Let see here. Strangest habit you have, or what’s the habit you’re trying to break right now?

Andrew Ripp:
Ooh, that’s good.

Jordan:
You pick.

Andrew Ripp:
Probably less phone time. I got a little girl that’s been starting to say, “Papa, look at me.” And I’m like, “Oh geez, this is bad.” You know what I’m saying?

Jordan:
Yeah, put the phones down.

Andrew Ripp:
You guys know what I’m talking about.

Jordan:
Oh, I’ve got two kids at home. Yeah.

Andrew Ripp:
Everybody’s in that boat.

Healing Out Loud Banner

Jordan:
Yep. What’s the one new personal skill you’d like to learn in 2022?

Andrew Ripp:
Usually, when I hit the road, I try to pick up on some kind of a new thing, which is when I started skateboarding. I’d grab the longboard.

Jordan:
Okay.

Andrew Ripp:
Begin the longboard. But, you’re making me think. Maybe I should get a unicycle or something. Start juggling.

Jordan:
Definitely this. 🤙

Andrew Ripp:
Start juggling on a unicycle.

Jordan:
The unicycle could be… You could start doing all sort, man, your stage show is going to be…

Andrew Ripp:
It’s going to be sick.

Jordan:
… next level.

Andrew Ripp:
It’s going to be this on steroids.

Jordan:
Someone’s going to, “Did you see Andrew Ripp on the unicycle juggling, singing?”

Andrew Ripp:
Fire.

Jordan:
Because, this is crazy.

Andrew Ripp:
He’s juggling fire.

Jordan:
What’s one thing we don’t know about you minus the fire sticks in the air?

Andrew Ripp:
Oh man, so many things.

Jordan:
If you were to just reach your hand in and pull one thing out…

Andrew Ripp:
Right now, my back really itches. You would not have known that.

Have a Prayer Request? Submit It here!

Jordan:
Can I help you?

Andrew Ripp:
Yes, you can.

Jordan:
Okay, there we go.

Andrew Ripp:
Left blade, left blade.

Jordan:
Let me scratch that itch.

Andrew Ripp:
Thanks, man. That’s good.

Jordan:
Name something you hate that everyone else seems to love.

Andrew Ripp:
Gosh, these questions are tough. Cranberries at Thanksgiving time.

Jordan:
Really?

Andrew Ripp:
What’s going on with the cranberries? Get them off the table.

Jordan:
All right. How about this? Piece of advice you would share with your younger self?

Andrew Ripp:
Wow. “Don’t be so hard on yourself, man.” You know what I’m saying? “You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to win every game. You don’t have to make great songs. Write some bad songs. Be cool with it.”
