The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still

Why is it so difficult to be still?  When life gets really hard, I’d like to say that my first instinct is to pray.  But, honestly, too often my first impulse is to “do something.” It makes me feel like I’m in control.  I can handle this. I can fix whatever is wrong. If you’re there today, perhaps God wants to invite you to a better way.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14

Why, still? Because that’s when we surrender control. When we acknowledge He is the only One who can save. When I’m still, I’m trusting Him, not me.  That’s the purpose of still.  God is with you and He’s aware of the battle around you.  Take a deep breath and simply sit in His presence.  May He find you, still.  And may you find Him, faithful.  -Sandi
