One Heart Family Ministries
One Heart Family Ministries cares for children in the MO foster care system by equipping and supporting Christian families impacted by foster care and adoption. Their vision is to see an educated Christian community actively care for children and families impacted by foster care. One Heart walks with families through the entire process of learning about foster care. One Heart will assist in providing the necessary state training to become licensed foster and adoptive parents along with providing a Biblical foundation and perspective. One Heart also offers a network of support to their families after classes are completed and children join their family.
One Heart desires to help all children who have been abandoned, abused, neglected or orphaned so they have a chance at a new life in a Christian family. They teach and encourage their families to love these children unconditionally and to help them through their pain and struggles by sharing Christ’s love and giving them hope for the future. Families that are actively caring for these children are most successful with physical, emotional and spiritual support on how to provide a healing home. One Heart will walk each family through the training and placement process and continue to support each family with physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Social events are held throughout the year to bring families together to support one another along this journey.
There are endless ways you can help support foster and adopting families in your church. You can also provide items on their Wish List! Wish List items include: diapers, new socks and underwear, gift cards to grocery stores, Target and/or Walmart. They are happy to brainstorm other ideas with you and your church! Due to limited space, One Heart cannot accept stuffed animals, toys, or books. Thank you for understanding. Please check in with the office as needs change frequently. The Valley Park Foster Closet is run by a One Heart mom. They are able to accept gently used children’s clothing, shoes and some baby equipment.
