Be Still, And Know That I Am God

Be Still, And Know That I Am God

I’m a fixer.  I like to be busy and get things done.  Which is…both good and bad.  Things get done. But I think I did them. And when I can’t fix something, I worry.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

I love this verse. It is an invitation let go of control and cling to God. I need to do both more often. We live in a hurried world. We think we get extra credit for being busy or achieving much. There is certainly a place and time for working hard. (Usually at least 8 hours a day). But there is also freedom in being still before God and knowing Him well. Trusting Him. Resting in Him. I pray that we will pause from the busy today and accept His invitation to be. And know.
