The “Gain” In Grief

The “Gain” In Grief

It was a moment of comfort after my grandma died.  She loved Jesus. She loved me. I remember how sad I felt after she passed.  It was a sunny morning and I felt sorry that she was “missing the sun.”  God, in a gentle, sweet, way, reminded my heart that she hadn’t missed a thing.  She was enjoying the sun from a different view.  She was seeing more than I was.

“To live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21

As believers, God’s Spirit is with us, at all times.  There is joy in the living.  But there is also brokenness and pain. When we see Him face to face, we get the fullness of joy and the absence of suffering. We gain the reward of His presence forever. So, we live for Him today.  We will live with Him forever. – Sandi
